Jeri Massi is a great author, able to weave a story that has so much depth to it, yet easy for my 4th grader to follow and enjoy! The story is very much a parallel to Jesus Christ and Christianity, which I so appreciate. The chapters are quick and the book is short, but the language is just challenging enough. Lots of new words for my daughter, but not so difficult that she gets lost.

Earth Dreams is a great time-traveling tale, perfect for anyone in upper elementary on up. The premise is very unique with a serious injury here in our time sending a boy back to the past soon after Creation. Written from a Christian point-of-view, it brings up some very interesting questions about how much civilization has changed through the ages. This book flowed easily making it a very smooth story to read. I enjoyed going back and forth between the two timelines and seeing the connections. This book definitely lends itself to having some deep conversations afterwards. Perfect for parents and kids alike!

I can't tell you how many times I've read this book. It's hilarious! The story is about a couple of kids and their quest to earn money, fit in, and be 'detectives'. Their adventures are truly unique. I believe that it is written for 4th or 5th grade reading level but I've read it to my 2nd grader and he enjoyed it. My husband loves it too, and he's, ahem, considerably older than school-age.

BIO

I attended Catholic school as a girl. And I mean real, old fashioned, Catholic school, where knuckles were rapped and the teachers were feared and yet mercilessly pranked. When I was a teenager, I read the Bible for myself, came to believe in Justification by faith, and became thoroughly Protestant in my beliefs. I enjoy church history, especially the history of the Reformation.
The other great love of my life was, and still is, martial arts. Shortly after I graduated from college, I earned my black belt, and currently I am a fourth degree black belt.
For me, writing fiction was an escape at first. Then, as I grew older, fiction became a means to entertain other people while also framing certain ideas to them in a unique way.
I write both fiction and non-fiction books. My novel VALKYRIES was nominated for the Christy Award.
